HONORING ARTISANS AND ARTISTRY
This year as a part of our inaugural Houston Family Dinner , we are excited to honor the women and artisans behind our social enterprise, Fábrica.
THE ARTISANS
Through our social enterprise, the Quispicanchi Project helps to employ 50+ local women who report receiving close to 50% of their annual income as a result of our partnership alone.
With every purchase you are providing employment, empowerment, and hope to a local artisan and mother.
TRADITION & TECHNIQUE
One of our founding principles is to honor local heritage, tradition, and culture. That is at the heart of our social enterprise. Each product is a work or art, lovingly hand crafted, often using a combination of centuries old methods and modern techniques.
Whether worn or displayed, each Fábrica product is a celebration and exchange of culture and indigenous heritage.
LOCALLY SOURCED MATERIALS
Textile production in the high Andes is a way of life passed from mother to daughter and father to son. Families across the region raise livestock year round in to make everything from clothes to household items.
Every Fábrica product is made from locally produced and sourced materials. From the wool of alpacas of Sullumayo and thread spun in Urcos, each item is a reflection of the communities we serve.
SKILLS DEVELOPMENT
We partner with Sempa, a local Jesuit affiliated organization to provide skills development and a variety of training for our artisans. Training includes not only new techniques in weaving and product design, but also financial literacy, business and entrepreneurship.
Your support of our social enterprise provides local women with the tools necessary for economic independence!
